pens i am using
after carrying like 20 pens with me every day, i am narrowing them down to four in my bag at one time (rotating some in and out). these have been in my bag this week:

namiki vanishing point. mine looks like the one on the left. it’s got a fine nib, but being a japanese pen, the fine writes like an extra fine, which for the last few months i tend to be drawn to. my writing looks better with a narrower nib width . . . and my moleskines like it better. i loaded this up with waterman blue black and waterman florida blue (which is my favorite ink these days), but I think i may switch back to noodler’s blue black with works really well in this pen. i love the retractable mechanism, which is the only thing i miss from ballpoints (i have two parker jotters i keep on my desk for making clickies).

waterman kultur. this is a cheapie on ebay, but i love the look (i love demonstrators). i have a converter in it, so you can see the twisty knob mechanism through the barrel. this is a great little pen and it just never disappoints. i have it loaded up with waterman florida blue ink and it’s sitting right next to me now.

mid 60s parker 45. the one i’m using is blue with a silver cap. it’s a medium nib, but it writes like a fine. this is one of the pens robert got for me on ebay. it’s simple, understated, and writes like a champ with waterman florida blue ink (notice a theme here?)

lamy vista. lamy makes incredibly wonderful pens and this line (a variation on their safari pens) is just perfect. this has a fine nib and it’s loaded with noodler’s black. mine looks just like this with the converter and everything. i’ve been writing with blue ink a lot, so this one doesn’t get used as much as the other pens in my small case. but it was my go to pen this last weekend on the island for some reason. i really like looking at it and the nib is super smooth.
